Well, this definitely has a potential to it! The author is a new-to-me author, but he surely has the seasoned skills to create an interesting novel. The research the author put into the story shines through and can be easily seen from the start.

I have one negative about this story. Simply put, it's a bit too rough. Granted that's the way a story like this is supposed to be, however, for my tastes, it was a bit to edgy.

The character, Asher Levine, was a well created one and fit his role perfectly. His character is the typical protagonist and really went through all the emotions that one man possible can as he went through the typical dealings that a detective goes through, especially when a witness dies. You, as the reader, can really feel those emotions, as if they were your own. The thrills of those emotions keep the reader hooked and turning page after page.

I definitely can say that this is a police procedural styled novel that is worthy of four stars and recommendation. Despite the roughness, I found myself glad that I gave this novel a chance. If you love mystery thrillers and detective novels, this is one that you should definitely add to your list!
