A suspicious diving accident sends a detective, a doctor, and a medical examiner on a hunt for the killer in the exciting murder mystery novel, Last Man Out by Isabella Adams. When Dr. Andromeda Markos examines Tony, a cave diver, for the bends, he seems to be acting guilty, and she is suspicious. Tony survived a diving accident where his diving partner died. Stacey, Andie's best friend, is the county Medical Examiner and when she evaluates the diver's injuries, she finds evidence that he was murdered. Detective Sean Malone goes to question Tony, but he discovers Tony's body contorted gruesomely. Sean calls in Andie and Stacy to assess the scene. What they find leaves them all with more questions than answers. Their investigation leads them to a dive shop where Andie knows the proprietor. However, the store is empty, and he is not on the premises. While Sean is busy outside looking for the owner, Stacy and Andie are inside looking around. Unexpectedly, they are nearly blown away in a gas explosion. Did Andie's friend try to kill them? What is in the caves that is so important that it is worth killing over? Can Sean, Stacy, and Andie find the killer before they become the victims?
Last Man Out by Isabella Adams is a brilliant murder mystery set in Florida. Action-packed scenes and dynamic characters are perfectly melded together, giving the story a solid plot. Dramatic personal and family situations steeped within the story line are genuine and amusing. Familial issues based on religious and cultural expectations present the characters as relatable and give them well-rounded personalities. With vivid settings, an intricate plot, and original characters, this is an outstanding murder mystery novel that will gratify and entertain those who love mysteries in exotic places.
