Macaroni Makenzie by Lori Closson is a children's book about a little girl, Makenzie, who could not eat anything but mac and cheese. Makenzie would eat macaroni and cheese for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Whether at home or in a restaurant, she would always ask for mac and cheese. Her parents and everyone else tried to get her to eat other foods by telling her that she will one day turn into mac and cheese but she did not care. She actually liked the idea of becoming mac and cheese. One morning she woke up to go to school and realised that she had turned into mac and cheese and she did not like the reality at all. She found disguises to wear to school so that her parents and everyone at school would not notice. She almost succeeded until the cafeteria lady saw her and started chasing her; after all it was mac and cheese day at school, so she was supposed to be lunch. She prayed and promised that if she turned back to her normal self she would start eating other foods. Will Makenzie turn back into her normal self in time, or will she remain mac and cheese?

Macaroni Makenzie by Lori Closson is a nice children's book and a good way to teach little kids about the importance of eating a healthy, balanced diet. The fear of turning into macaroni, or any other food, will get kids trying other foods and eating a balanced diet.
