Malik's Revenge is a work of fiction in the crime thriller, suspense, and action subgenres and forms the first novel of the Alan Brodie Thrillers series. The result is best suited to the general adult reading audience and is penned by Les Haswell. In this opening novel to what promises to be an exciting series, we are introduced to former British Special Forces operative Alan Brodie, who is now aiming for a more peaceful existence in private security. But when a new business venture in Spain suddenly turns into an operation to bust a drug cartel, Brodie and his new companion Sergeant Anita Malik must take on the case and a few more surprises along the way.
Les Haswell has much to offer in this fantastic series opener, filled with suspense, thrills, and all-out action from start to finish. Our initial introduction to the central protagonist Alan Brodie tells us much about the series. When such a capable and collected hero enters a scene, you feel his presence in the tension and gravitas of Haswell's words. But Alan is also well developed with apparent flaws and weak links in his armor, and these little pitfalls make for some of the most exciting plot twists to occur later when we’re all sucked into a false sense of security. Between this excellent character development, clever plotting, and an unusual setting that throws even more complications into the mix, I highly recommend Malik's Revenge as a unique novel that will thrill you.
