Merlin's Magical Music Island by James T. Campbell is a well-written book that introduces kids to the beauty of music. Melody and her twin brother, Mute, are the youngest notes in the piece, and they were excited to perform. While waiting for their staff placement assignments at their first-ever rehearsals, they contemplated their chances of getting an important part. However, after getting their placement, something happened as they conversed with other notes that made them feel embarrassed and insignificant. Melody and Mute plot a way to escape from everyone's opinion and leave the island forever. At the next rehearsal, Merlin the Magic Treble Clef and the ruler of the symphonic island notice Melody's and Mute's absence and set out to find them.

I was so pleased that this book is visually appealing to kids and designed to fit their interests and growing imaginations. The stylish fonts, colorful pages, and amazing illustrations will keep kids engaged. I found the writing to be concise, well-organized, and easy to comprehend. The story had a natural pace and would be perfect as a bedtime story for kids. I commend James' creativity in introducing musical terms in such a fun way for children. This story evokes themes of self-respect, teamwork, and more. Also, kids could benefit from positive moral lessons on the need to be respectful and not speak ill of anyone. I recommend Merlin's Magical Music Island by James T. Campbell to all young readers and fans of children's books.
