Elise Kingston is a woman with a past, but she has found sanctuary with the Clan MacGregor after being swept overboard from her ship. She has a terrible secret to conceal for she has vowed vengeance on the man who killed her daughter and brother. How can she tell Marcus MacGregor that she killed her first husband as the passion ignites between the both of them. The Highland Lord is the Laird’s son and means to win over Elise, but he knows there are secrets between them that must be shared. Time is against them as Elise has another enemy that is out to destroy her and to claim her vast inheritance. Together, Elise and Marcus must fight to conquer their love.
Author Tarah Scott has the talent to draw you into the past into a different world and a different time. For anyone that loves historical romances, she has mastered the art of enchanting readers with the allure and brutality of the Highlands and of Scotland. She has captured the spirit of that time and draws us in with her strong characters that have intense chemistry and attraction – all centered around a fascinating and fast paced story line and plot. This was a very enjoyable read that captured my complete attention. I would love to read all her books about her Highland Lords and love interests as she creates characters that you learn to care about and want to follow.
