Pearlized is a pulsating murder-mystery thriller written by B.K. Sweeting. Haunted by the mysterious circumstances of his mother's disappearance in 2002, Oisin Murphy still reels from the aftereffects of the incident. Raised by his best friend Logan's family, Oisin grows up convinced that the Pearl Point Murderer still roams free, even though a man named William was identified and convicted as the infamous serial killer. Oisin's past comes back to haunt him once again when he receives a sinister message on the 13th of October. Meanwhile, his childhood friend Ella returns from sunny California after more than a decade. But after surviving a bank robbery, she is traumatized. As the two kindred souls start a burgeoning relationship, horrors from the past spring up once again that threaten everyone.
Filled with suspense, intrigue, and plenty of thrills, author B.K. Sweeting's gripping murder-mystery tale is set to entertain lovers of whodunnit mysteries. Containing an intricate and fast-moving plot filled with unexpected twists and turns, Pearlized keeps your eyes glued to the pages from start to finish. Sweeting uses a non-linear narrative that switches timelines and POVs to form an enthralling storyline that leaves no room for your attention to waver. The characters are well-realized and layered, which makes them thoroughly compelling to read. Their inner turmoil and conflicting motives make them easy to relate to, and you find yourself actively caring for their lives. There is a Hitchcockian feel to the narrative that any fan of murder mysteries or sleuth stories will find thoroughly entertaining. Highly recommended.
