If you are looking for an urban fantasy blended with adventure, metaphysics, suspense, a touch of drama, and more, Phoenix Rising by Rebecca A. Nagy is a worthy pick. Weaving an enthralling plot, the author whisked me away from reality and plunged me headfirst into a world of fantasy. Through a multi-perspective timeline and vivid depictions, I was introduced to a diverse, dynamic cast. The purposeful, character-driven conversations, alongside the introspective voice and the sentimental edge accompanying them, allowed me to experience the emotions of the cast. Juxtaposing their complex traits strengthened the story's grip on reality and made it easier to connect with them. I got swept up in a whirlwind of conspiracies, ancient prophecies, politics, fate, evil, betrayal, sacrifices, loyalty, love, cosmic stakes, mythical power, and much more. This being the second volume in The Trybrid Chronicles, I highly recommend reading the preceding installment to enjoy this read.
