Erin Kant Barnard's funny friends Dino and Rhino are back in a new adventure. Rhino and Dino in Juice! centers around some refreshing 100% juice. Dino and Rhino are at the park having a picnic. Dino is playing hard on all the playground equipment until he staggers over to Rhino, parched. Rhino is quietly sipping his juice box when Dino starts begging for just a sip of Rhino's juice. Dino wheedles and wheedles until, finally, Rhino consents to share his juice. Will Dino get his thirst quenched? Be sure to keep your eyes open for another character that infiltrates their picnic! Barnard has also included a tip to help save the planet.
Fans of Elephant and Piggie will love Rhino and Dino! Erin Kant Barnard has created two memorable characters. Dino is very energetic and dramatic. Rhino is very calm and generous. The wonderful thing is that as in any true friendship, give and take ensue. Barnard's drawings are bold and full of fun details. The expressive drawings carry the narrative even when there are very few words. Rhino and Dino in Juice! will have kids and adults laughing out loud. Some of the best stories to share with kids have subtle humor for adults to enjoy as well. Barnard has excelled in taking a simple concept, juice, and creating a fully-fledged story. I loved Rhino's expressions as Dino becomes more and more dramatic about his thirst. As a former children's librarian, I highly recommend Rhino and Dino in Juice!
