Roadtrip: Discovering Weird and Wonderful Places by Shelba Oberto is an adventure trip for young readers, who are taken through every state in the United States of America with Kaylee and Jimmy. The teacher gives them loads of schoolwork to do on the way, the mother becomes an on-the-road-teacher and converts everything to a teachable experience, and the father takes them safely from one place to another. By the time one finishes reading the book, they would have explored all the places in the United States showcasing the diversity of the place, all the wonderful things that there are to explore and much more.
I found the book exciting and exhilarating for its originality and uniqueness. The illustrations are colorful and they give clarity to the author's thoughts and words. The places are well marked on the map on each page to make the location clear. The book is excellent for reference purposes and can be kept in all libraries. The book is useful and helpful not only for kids, but for adults as well as it discusses the important things in each place.
The information and statistics given are very educational and what a wonderful way to teach kids about new places! There is not a boring moment while going through the story. It is a book worth having in one's personal collection as it can always be used for reference and learning about the places and things to see in the United States. A very informative and educational book for children.
