Author Biography

I was given a copy of Grimm's fairytales when I was a young girl, and I remember being stuck to that book like glue. I was fascinated by the mysterious and darker approach to fairy folklore because it made it seem realistic! Decades later, I decided to bring my own take on fairies to The Very Fairy Series. In TVFS, each fairy has a very fairy way of carrying out their fairy responsibilities. And sometimes that way leads them on a particular adventure...or misadventure with humans, animals, and other fairies! Some wind up lost, some are very particular about their duties, some take naps, some are impatient until they learn how to ask for help, value themselves and others, and find a way to work together. All done with humor, love, and understanding!

Rosehip lived in the Forest of Fey and she was a curious little fairy. Her job was to see that the rosehip bushes blossomed properly. Rosehip slowly started to find her duties boring and she would often fall asleep with her wings lazily draped over a plant. Rosehip's friends started noticing how the rosehip bushes were not blooming as they should be. They decided to speak to the Fairy Queen about it. The Queen knew what to do and she raised her magic wand and whispered a special incantation. Would there be a change in Rosehip's behavior and would she be able to bring back magic to the rosehip bushes by being more responsible?

Rosehip: A Very Curious Fairy (The Very Fairy Series) by Persephone Vandegrift is a whimsical story that will help children be responsible and perform their chores properly.
