Sanctimonious Serial Killers by Michael Segedy is a psychological thriller. Special Agent Rick Clark and Dr. Marty Robyn, a forensic psychologist, are investigating a series of murders - three in the last 18 months, at least these are the ones they know about. The Bedsheet Serial Killer could easily have raped and murdered many more in that period; it’s time for the FBI to step in and help out, to profile the killer and work out what his motives would be in the hopes that they can catch him before any more lives are lost. In the second part of the book, Agent Clark heads off to Peru in search of clues in the murder of a close friend. Together with the Peruvian Intelligence Services and a sexy special agent, Clark tracks down the clues that bring him into a head-on collision with the people who will let nothing stand in their way. Two stories, two serial killers. Draw your own conclusions.

Sanctimonious Serial Killers by Michael Segedy was something a little different. Two stories with one main protagonist, a man whom you will find easy to like. Every character in this book was developed fully, even the bad guys, and I think that is an important part of this kind of story – if you don’t know the killers, you can’t possibly understand the story, what drives them to do what they do. This is one of those page-turner books, one that any reader will find it difficult to put down, simply because they will be drawn in and, no matter how much they fight it, the urge to find out what happened is a powerful one. Excellent book, an interesting read with two separate stories, this will suit anyone who loves crime fiction.
