Scarecrow Finds A Heart is an engaging picture book about a group of friends who become victims of rumor-mongering. Written by Sydney Roubian and Papa Dave and illustrated by Auntie Erika, the book follows a group of friends belonging to the community of the porch and their friends in the storage room of waiting. When the scarecrow on the porch discovers a hole in his chest, he is deeply hurt and mistakenly blames the friendly birds for his misfortune. Soon, a blame game begins with the dolls, pumpkins, flowers, and others taking sides and spreading rumors that only inflame tensions and divide the community. But then, a wise little pumpkin adds his voice, gently asking everyone to be kind. The scarecrow and the birds heed his message, and the community is united once again.

With the advent of social media, misinformation and rumors spread like wildfire and inadvertently end up hurting someone. Scarecrow Finds A Heart is a colorful picture book with a wonderful message about kindness, compassion, and patience. Sydney Roubian and Papa Dave have written a beautiful story about friendship and community that will entertain young and older readers alike. The authors have crafted some truly unique characters who leave their mark on the reader with their distinct attributes and adorable personalities. The lively illustrations by Auntie Erika make the narrative immersive and the story all the more entertaining. The scarecrow, the skeleton, the dolls, and the little pumpkin were my favorite characters of the bunch. This book will delight children and teach them a few valuable life lessons. I had a great time reading it and you should too!
