Soul Swap With Journal & Poems by Cameron Glenn is a daring yet delicate book about the struggles of existence and the thoughts that go through a person’s mind when faced with hopelessness and desolation. The book starts with the story of a boy whose mother committed suicide and continues with different yet similar suicide stories, interconnected in afterlife and by a chance for one more day among the living. The boy, alongside a mysterious man, plays a key role in both the development of the story and its characters, but also in engaging and enlightening the reader.

The author draws you in from page one and you swiftly find yourself trapped between the mind of his troubled characters and the awareness that there is something more to the story than the depiction of accidentally connected suicides. In the second part of the book, Journal & Poems, we’re teleported into the mind of Cameron Glenn through the beautiful and sincere paths of poetry and journal entries. The book is written in a valiant format, so the presence of this last part might not surprise you, but it will definitely put things into perspective and enhance your reading experience.

The subject of suicide, although vastly discussed by writers and artists, is a delicate subject for most readers, as it brings us face to face with our own anxieties. This is the reason why Soul Swap With Journals & Poems is more than just a captivating story. For readers, the book provides the perfect environment for wandering the paths of our minds and better understanding the beauty of life, but also for understanding depression and its tragic consequences. For writers, the book opens the path to a new writing style; it tells them that you don’t have to follow a pattern in order to write a story that will capture the minds and hearts of its readers.
