Nadine K. Thompson wrote a poem and a wisdom saying every day for 30 straight days. The result is Staring At A Blank Page. Only through change can we evolve in new ways. Wear your heart on your sleeve and bring joy to others with a smile. Be careful about the masks you wear to hide your true self, so they don't end up changing your entire identity. Make your presence felt whenever you arrive somewhere. The last global pandemic unexpectedly opened the doors for people to share their talents with the world. Getting out of your comfort zone and taking the first step is essential to achieving one's dreams. Self-love is key to finding meaning and purpose in life. Always question your preconceived notions so you don't end up hindering your search for happiness.
'Inspiring' is the first word that comes to mind after finishing this book. It's really impressive that Nadine K. Thompson completed this captivating collection of poems within a month. Staring At A Blank Page felt intimate yet relatable. Thompson clearly draws inspiration from her own life experiences. However, the way she expresses those feelings through her poetry will resonate with most readers out there. Her themes are universal, focusing on human everyday experiences as a whole. Personally, I found her poetry both observational and motivational. I also liked the "wisdom thought of the day" after each poem. They highlight the specific theme of the poem itself and expand on the subject matter a little bit more. Overall, I think poetry lovers will really enjoy this book. I certainly did!
