There are so many ways to tell a story and in Tea and Madness, C. Streetlights chose to tell hers by sharing portions of her life, one at a time. Through those selected peeks, she shares stories and events from her past that left an impact on her life, changed the way she perceived life, and molded her into the woman she turned out to be. With each chapter in the book, she shares yet another chapter in her life, opening herself up more and more to the reader. The events are narrated in no particular order, and yet they come together beautifully and blend into an amazing life journey. Some of the stories narrate everyday life events while others share deeper and more complex issues, but all come with deep emotions and profound lessons about life.

C. Streetlights has a beautiful way with words that delivers emotional depth and right away draws you into her life. She offers fragments of her life, revealing just enough for the reader to get to know her while at the same time keeping the mystery of her full journey alive. The narration strikes a delicate balance between full disclosure and mystery, and C. Streetlights knows how to give just enough. She knows just how much to reveal to connect with the reader and share her emotions and lessons. By sharing just parts of her story, she created an alluring mystery that had me curious to see how it all blended into one profound journey that captures life with all its ups and downs. By telling each chapter as if the event was happening at that very moment, she allows the reader to feel the depth of her raw emotions. Tea and Madness is deeply touching, told in a fresh and compelling way.
