The Adventures of Reggie Mouse: Exploring the Water Pools is a children’s picture book written and illustrated by Jonnie Tash. The story follows Reggie, a cute mouse, and his friends, Malin the monkey, Sedric the marmot, and Laura the frog. While playing in the forest, Reggie, Malin, and Sedric hear something unusual. The trio follows the noise and finds the Yoomans building a water pool and tunnels. The three do not understand why the Yoomans are doing this. So, when Laura joins them, they ask her because she is the most intelligent animal they know. Laura proceeds to answer their question in a fun and creative way.
I loved reading The Adventures of Reggie Mouse, which is a funny and educative story. Reggie and his friends are cute and naïve characters. They refer to people as Yoomans and their conversations to "blah blah” sounds. Jonnie Tash teaches kids about the importance of hygiene and water use. The story begins with Reggie having a smelly tail, which perfectly ties into the theme of using water for bathing. Water is used for drinking, gardening, and many other activities that this story highlights. The book features beautiful illustrations that capture the incredible scenery of the forest and wildlife. They are bright, colorful and depict each character’s unique personality. I happily recommend getting this book for your children and introducing them to this fun and informative author.
