In The Danger with Diamonds by Traci Hunter Abramson and Sian Ann Bessey, CIA agent Cole Bridger goes to Budapest to find his co-worker, agent Trevor Rogers, who had been kidnapped. Cole receives help from Jasmine as well as Cas, known only as Ghost to the intelligence operatives she helps, and they report to Gwendolyn. Cole’s cousin Lars receives jewelry that once belonged to their great-grandmother. With help from his friend Marit, they photograph and inventory all the jewelry. Isabelle, a bank employee, secures the valuable jewelry in the bank vault. Upon returning to the vault, Cole and Isabelle are held up at gunpoint for the valuable jewels. It is up to Cole and his team to investigate and find out who the mastermind is behind the heist, even though he may put himself and his family in danger.
The Danger with Diamonds is a thrilling novel filled with suspense and intrigue. The characters are interesting and easy to relate to, although the relationships between Cole, Lars, Isabelle, and Marit become rather complicated, another challenge for the team to solve. I especially enjoyed the camaraderie between Cole and Lars. The story has many twists and turns with a few surprises along the way. The scenes and locations are well described, including Cole's and Isabelle’s homes and the interior of the bank. Traci Hunter Abramson and Sian Ann Bessey are fantastic authors and their stories keep the reader enthralled from beginning to end. All-round, a great novel highly recommended to all adults.
