Two men, both named John Carter, share more than just a name. The Farber Legacy by George Encizo tracks the emotional turmoil both men experience in the course of their respective jobs - as a local sheriff investigating a horrific car accident that left two young women dead, and an attorney hired to represent a teenage rape victim. A family legacy of lapses in memory join these men who only have the vaguest idea that there is something unusual going on in their lives. With both dedicated to their jobs as well as their families and friends, the intricacies and intrigues of the two cases challenge their view of society, but bring them closer to those they love. Working together with other law enforcement officers and people who specialize in helping others, both John Carters struggle through the details, hoping for the breaks that will shed light on the perpetrators. Will they succeed or will their black-outs cause unexpected twists that cloud the facts?
A true mystery, The Farber Legacy by George Encizo leads you through a maze of clues and incidents along with the characters. In a very engaging story, you feel what the characters feel and suffer or celebrate along with them. With plenty of details that provide excellent realism, Encizo portrays the horrors of crime against women that the heroes fight hard to resolve with sensitivity and resources that offer effective results. A full range of character types flesh out the story and keep the action lively. A great read!
