The Leap of Forgiveness by April Geremia becomes just that as Joshua McKeon begins his journey to unravel the mystery of his own life. Twenty years after his mother's death, Joshua begins receiving mysterious letters, letters that open his eyes to the strange and painful truth that he has longed to know. The pain of loss and not knowing has shaped his life and caused him to live in fear with no ability to emotionally connect. Then, he meets Isabelle and all of the love he wants so desperately is right in front of him. This ever present fear of loving and losing it again has made him unable to commit to Isabelle, and she is slipping further and further away. While he tries to open himself up to Isabelle, he is confronted with the past that had emotionally crippled him in the first place. The truth about his mother's death, about Edith, the woman who appointed herself as his mother, and all the madness that had invaded his life since childhood.
April Geremia has woven a beautiful story with descriptive detail that draws you in deeper with every line. April Geremia creates mental images that allow the reader to see and feel all of the emotions of her characters. The Leap of Forgiveness shows how we can find the strength and courage to face those who have hurt and damaged us if we can allow God to help us forgive, if we will trust Him. With that forgiveness, we find freedom from those things that have had us bound, freedom and peace to move forward and live our lives to the fullest.
