Even small donkeys can have big dreams. The Little Donkey and God’s Big Plan by Izabela Ciesinska helps children understand that despite being small and young, God has big plans for them. The little donkey wanted to become as strong as an ox, useful like a camel, and graceful like a horse, but he was stuck tied to the same post every day. A young girl started taking the little donkey on short walks daily, reminding him that God had a very special purpose for him. The donkey did all he could to prepare for God’s special purpose, whatever that might be. One day, some men led the donkey to a kind man who wanted to ride on his back. The Man was Jesus, who rode the donkey into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday. Help your child prepare to be used by God and to seek His will in their lives. This book should be in every Christian home with children.

In The Little Donkey and God’s Big Plan by Izabela Ciesinska, children learn that faithfulness in little things is often rewarded by the opportunity to do marvelous big things. Izabela writes in easy-to-understand language so children can read the story for themselves. She keeps the reader’s attention and uses beautiful illustrations to enhance the text. Help your children learn that God rewards those who are faithful. What is done for Jesus is always remembered by Him. The author understands a child’s desire to do great things and reminds them that they will have the opportunity to do great things in due time. At the end of the book, the author includes some interesting information about what type of donkey Jesus might have ridden on His triumphal entry into Jerusalem. She believes it was a Nubian donkey. Be sure to read about the special symbol on the backs of Nubian donkeys.
