She has won several awards for her writing, and had even seconded in Amazon Breakthrough Novel Contest, with her White Magic Woman. These days she stays busy helping in the community and donating her services to a not-for-profit organization, which she helped establish. Whoa! Can you say hot? Well, I certainly did after finishing The Odor of Violet, the new offering by author Ju Ephraime. Follow the story of Damien Falconer, a young man who is struggling mightily after he loses both his sight and the woman he thought loved him, after she could not deal with his new disability. Damien has become comfortable living as a recluse, only allowing his personal assistant, Jake, into his life. But when Jake prepares to return to Scotland, and a new assistant needs to be found, no one, especially Damien, could have expected registered nurse Lisa Andrews. Damien is at first resistant to having a female assistant; determined as he is that all hope of a good relationship with a woman is non-existent. But when they meet, and Damien becomes captivated by her intriguing scent, a relationship like neither had ever expected ensues.
I so enjoyed The Odor of Violet. Author Ju Ephraime has done a spectacular job in creating characters that her readers will connect with, relate to and truly come to care about, thinking of long after the story is done. If that isn't a hallmark of a great author, I'm not sure what is. A hot romance, this book will have readers greedily turning the pages, eager to find out what happens next. Any reader who loves a contemporary romance, especially one written with an emphasis on the male's perspective, should absolutely read this book. I highly recommend The Odor of Violet, and look forward to reading more from author Ju Ephraime as soon as I possibly can!
