The Piranha Solution by John Triptych is the first science fiction thriller in the Ace of Space series, taking the reader to a future human footprint on Mars, struggling for its very survival. Of the original four colonies established by Russia, China, ACE Corporation and nonaligned adventurers, only two remain. When contact is lost with both - an ACE Corporation construction team working on a new habitat and the rescue team sent to investigate - Stilicho Jones is sent from Earth to investigate. As ACE Corporation’s chief consultant and troubleshooter, Jones is thrown into a volatile partnership with Nasa special agent Darian Arante in a race to discover the fate of the two missing teams, and to avert potential disaster not only for the imminent arrival of tourists in transit to Mars, but the future of our presence on the red planet.
John Triptych’s The Piranha Solution is an out of this world whirlwind ride across the Martian wilderness, filled with movement in both localities and story arc. This is science fiction at its purest with future technology brought to life throughout, which was believable, thought-provoking and at times a scary portent of an uncertain future. The main characters were real and could be easily related to, and the interplay between Stilicho and Darian was effervescently refreshing. The sparks between them provided subtle pointers to the possibility of a future bond neither would have expected. For those driven by science fiction, action, thrills, and drama, this book will not fail to deliver.
