The Three Prankster Mice by John Dorey is a fun children's book about three young mice named Dan, Fran, and Stan. The three mice live on Mr. McDonald's farm, and enjoy pranking the other animals. Every animal has suffered from a prank at least once. However, the three mice remain oblivious to the animals' hatred of the pranks. One day, the mice decide to play a prank on Shellie the cow. They tied her back hoof to the fence, and when she tried to run, they laughed as she fell flat on her face. The other animals are upset by the cruelty of prank. The mice decide to stay in a nest out in the field because of the other animals' anger. But then they see two glowing eyes in the nest. What will they do?

I really enjoyed reading The Three Prankster Mice by John Dorey. The book is very well written and descriptive. I liked that the book shows a map of the area where the story takes place so you can get a sense of how far they walk, among other things. The story teaches that you shouldn't play too many pranks, or people won't believe what you say. The characters are very likeable, because they show that anyone can change. The pictures by John Dorey are well drawn, and clearly depict each scene. The story is well developed and thought out. I liked that the mice all wear clothes, because it helps to show which mouse is which. I would definitely recommend this book to all young readers.
