The Will 2 – Recalled by Benjamin Laskin continues the story of Josh as he finishes the bucket lists his father left him. The story picks up a few years after the first novel ended, and this time, Josh has a monumental task to complete if he wants to secure his future. The current CEO of his father's company, McCain Industries, is playing god with the company. Once a direct rival of his father, Beau Dougan is now the CEO. With his father's friends backing him up, it is up to Josh to save the company and protect everyone involved. If Josh is not careful, Dougan will sell the company to the highest bidder and not think twice. But Josh knows nothing about management, or so he thinks. All he needs is a little bit of courage and faith in himself. What will Josh do now?
Although I haven't read the previous novel in the series, I had no problem connecting with Josh and immersing myself in the story. Josh is very calm and rather focused. Is he nervous? Yes. However, he did not back down from the challenge. He balked at the notion of doing something about Beau Dougan, but he had Barnes and the crew to help him out. The pace is a little slow initially, but it picks up as the story progresses, and Josh gets a hold on the situation. The author writes a compelling tale in which the protagonist is intelligent and not arrogant. Josh knows he is a work in progress and relies on the advice of the older men in his life. But that does not mean he is not up for the challenge. I love that about him. The Will 2 – Recalled by Benjamin Laskin is a brilliant story of going outside the box, challenging yourself, and testing your limits. Very entertaining and interesting.
