Too Clever VI: Jason's Eagle is an educational children's book for 4th-6th graders, written and designed by Dr. Julia E. Antoine. Jason Fitzpatrick loves living near the Long Island Sound. His favorite birds nest near the Sound and dive into the water for fish. He's been studying Bald Eagles since he was very small. Jason even built a pair of eagle wings when he was five and tried them out from his bedroom window. They didn't work too well, and his parents found him in the oak tree outside his window. Jason's grandparents bought him a pair of binoculars which have allowed him to study the birds up close. He knows how to identify the gender of the birds and can tell the difference between juveniles and adults. His parents have been very supportive of his interest in ornithology, and, now that he's ten years old, have decided to buy him a digital camera as a present for doing so well in school. After studying the use of cameras for bird photography, he came up with two perfect cameras, and he was thrilled when his parents decided to buy him the one he really wanted.

Dr. Julia E. Antoine's educational children's book for 4th-6th graders, Too Clever VI: Jason's Eagle, is filled with fascinating facts about America's national bird as well as introducing bird watching to young readers. I'm a birder and was impressed with the amount of information contained in this book about the Bald Eagle. I found some facts about the size and weight of a typical Bald Eagle's nest to be surprising indeed. I enjoyed seeing how Jason planned to turn his interest into a career option as an ornithologist. This informative and entertaining book will have kids considering what they might want to do when they grow up, and that's a very good thing indeed. I also appreciated the links Dr. Antoine includes in the back of the book. Too Clever VI: Jason's Eagle is highly recommended.
