Unbroken Bones: Treasures of Darkness by Alana C. Marks is a faith-infused mystery that follows a cast of compelling characters who uncover long-buried secrets with potentially world-changing implications. Blending spiritual themes, historical intrigue, and modern dilemmas, the novel is a unique read. This is a story of redemption, legacy, and divine purpose. The narrative picks up momentum as Natasha, John, and Dr. Betsy delve into Dr. Cunningham’s mysterious research about enormous human bones that may be connected to biblical giants. As they investigate, their journeys intersect with ancient texts, coded messages, and a global conspiracy to suppress what could be earth-shaking revelations. Along the way, they navigate questions of faith, family, and scientific skepticism, creating space for emotional growth and spiritual reflection.

Treasures of Darkness by Alana C. Marks weaves modern-day challenges with scripture-based exploration. Her characters are multidimensional, the dialogue is natural, and the plot unfolds with a careful balance of pace and introspection. The author’s inclusion of scripture enriches the story, inviting readers to consider the intersection of faith and science. This book will especially appeal to readers who enjoy Christian fiction that engages with mystery and archaeological discovery. The combination of suspense, faith, and a hint of the supernatural makes for a riveting read without straying into the overly fantastical. It’s a thoughtful continuation of the series that leaves readers anticipating what comes next. Readers who appreciate the works of Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins, T.I. Lowe, or Davis Bunn will find similarities. Marks provides the backstory so readers won't be lost in this second installment.

Unbroken Bones: Treasures of Darkness by Alana C Marks continues the compelling spiritual adventure begun in the first installment of the trilogy, blending faith, mystery, and supernatural intrigue. We’re back with Natasha, John, and Dr. Betsy as they are drawn deeper into the mysteries left behind by Natasha’s grandmother, including the clues that are supposed to lead to ancient giant bones, but instead uncover much darker forces at work. As the trio deciphers the coded map, demonic interference threatens not only their mission but their very unity. When one of them vanishes, the stakes rise, plunging the others into a desperate quest through danger, betrayal, and spiritual warfare. As hidden truths emerge, they come face to face with their own doubts, fears, and the high cost of faith. This fast-paced second book in the trilogy expands the scope of the series while reinforcing the idea that the greatest treasures, like wisdom, love, and spiritual truth, are often buried in life’s darkest valleys.

Author Alana C Marks has a passion for the messages in this powerful story, and I loved the enthusiasm infused into the spiritual insights and gripping suspense that keep readers turning pages in this engaging adventure tale. Fans of the previous book will see the central characters grow in new ways, challenged by a well-paced and exciting plot that is a thought-provoking and thrilling continuation that deepens both character arcs and the theological themes. Yet the story never feels preachy or too strongly religious, relying instead on the heart and soul of the characters to carry those messages naturally in dialogue and action. And this is very well achieved with vivid language and some attitudinal touches that are bang on the mark for Natasha’s age group and her approach to tackling such complex issues. Overall, Unbroken Bones: Treasures of Darkness is highly recommended as a standout example of Christian fiction that doesn't shy away from the complexities of faith and darkness. I can’t wait to see what else the series has in store for us.

Unbroken Bones is the second book in the Treasures of Darkness series by Alana C. Marks, a blend of mystery and adventure. Natasha, John, and Dr. Betsy work together to decipher clues left by Natasha’s grandmother, leading them toward the discovery of colossal bones linked to biblical giants—a secret guarded for generations—and a spiritual battle between good and evil. They follow clues hidden in ancient diaries, maps, and mysterious artifacts pointing toward a secret treasure buried deep within Kennington Park. Dark forces, deceptive characters, and internal conflicts about faith, truth, and trust complicate their quest. As they navigate perilous situations—from secret break-ins to confrontations with those intent on hiding the truth—the characters are drawn into a spiritual and physical adventure that could change history and challenge their beliefs.

What fascinated me most in Unbroken Bones is the skillful handling of the themes of trust, faith, perseverance, and teamwork. Alana C. Marks crafts a story that explores the proverbial conflict between good and evil, filling it with adventure and relatable characters. I particularly enjoyed John, a skeptic struggling with his beliefs, as he is the perfect portrait of the conflict between spiritual conviction and worldly skepticism. George is a manipulative antagonist, always scheming. The story vividly portrays the battle between light and darkness, not only physically but within the characters’ hearts and minds, emphasizing the importance of faith, divine guidance, and perseverance in the face of spiritual warfare. I enjoyed how this author masterfully combines suspense, biblical symbolism, and spiritual insight to create a thought-provoking narrative that challenges perceptions. It is a delightful read for fans of Christian fiction.
