In Unexpected Packages by Stacy Eaton, the main characters, Alexander Miller and Alexia Miller, better known as Alex and Lexi, live in the same block of flats and have the same or similar first and last names. So mail is inclined to get mixed up, even unexpected parcels. One can only imagine the inevitable and the unexpected...
Unexpected Packages by Stacy Eaton (The Unexpected Series 1) makes me think of cold winter or rainy days, a crackling fire, and a hot mug of coffee, or better still, hot chocolate with marshmallows...curled up on a couch, under an afghan, with utter peace and quiet while settling in for a marathon read. The author has written a romantic drama in such an unusual way but it is an interesting way and makes a change from how romantic dramas are written. Unexpected Packages catches your attention from the first page and you find yourself wanting to keep reading till the end. I found myself at times smiling and even laughing at the characters and what they did, and then I would be sad as to how people can jump to conclusions or misunderstand the most simple statements.
Unexpected Packages makes an unexpected turn toward the end and brings a sense of doom that the problem is not going to be resolved but, like all good authors manage to do, it is solved in the most delightful way. The author has written a most wonderful, page-turning light read. Anyone who is just getting into reading will find it a book that makes you want to read more and more. This book is perfect to introduce a young adult to the world of reading. Stacy Eaton, thank you for a delightful book that makes me feel that the world is not as bad as it is painted in the news.
