Carla Mooney's 12 Epic Archaeological Adventures takes readers on a worldwide journey from the safety of their own home. The book introduces readers to twelve archaeological wonders and explains their importance to the world and what we can tell about early humans from it. The book explains the Lascaux Cave Paintings, the Pyramids of Giza, Stonehenge, and more. Readers will learn where the archaeological wonders are, when they date back to, and when and how they were discovered. The book finishes with a “Where in the World” section showing the locations and giving a brief recap of each archaeological wonder.

I really, really enjoyed reading 12 Epic Archaeological Adventures by Carla Mooney. The book is incredibly informative and well written. This is the perfect book for someone doing a project on any of the archaeological wonders, someone planning a trip to any of the places, or someone interested in archaeology. The book’s colorful and well laid out pages are visually attractive and sure to capture any kid’s (and adult’s) attention. I love that each page has a section that summarizes the main ideas, making it easy for a person on the go to read and find what they need. Some pages also have a “think about it” section that inspires readers to consider what they have just read, making it the perfect book for schools or parents who want to get their child to learn more. This book is sure to make the reader want to visit the places. This book contains many amazing facts that will blow the reader’s mind. All the pages have great pictures and captions explaining what it shows. By reading this book, I learned a lot about archaeology. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone.
