"A Delightful Arrangement" by Cecilia Gray
Since Francesca’s marriage was arranged by her father and Phillip’s father, she is denied the swooning period to find her lifetime love. Like the other young ladies her age, she had been very excited about her season in London when she could go to the dances where young single men were plentiful. She wanted to have her time to swoon these young men until she found one she could fall in love with and marry. She and Phillip have been best friends since childhood, but she just couldn’t imagine him as her husband. Phillip knows about the arranged marriage, in fact he is all for it, unbeknown to Francesca. He determined at an early age that he would marry Francesca and protect her the rest of her life. Well, Phillip and Francesca agreed to have their engagement to please their parents. But, she would also have her dream of going to London and have her season among the young bachelors. Her time in London was very interesting, with surprises Francesca wasn’t expecting. And well, you need to read this short Novella to see the surprises that await her!
This is a short and sweet romance that can be read in a few hours. The characters are interesting and delightful, and I thought Phillip is adorable, just don’t know why Francesca couldn’t see it too! The plot is captivating, keeping my interest until the last pages. However, I finished the story feeling as if something was missing, maybe the big ending that wasn’t there. I would really like to read it written as a much longer story. It also could use a little more editing as well.
If you are looking for a nice short fast romance to read, this would be a delightful book for you! So grab a copy, read and enjoy!
