A Gate Called Beautiful: Beauty for Ashes by Brandon Sutton is a self-help book that talks about accepting grief and moving forward in life. Brandon Sutton shares his loss and how the loss pushed him to look for joy in the loss. The author faced excruciating grief when he lost his beloved uncle. However, he learned how to heal and move ahead after accepting the loss. He went on a spiritual journey that allowed him to accept and then heal from the pain. He shares his spiritual journey with readers and helps them find solace in their grief by focusing on simple things such as accepting, moving forward, and finding hope. This book is perfect for people who wish to move forward after losing a loved one.

Author Brandon Sutton has written a cohesive and comprehensive narrative that comforts readers, but also encourages them to find hope and positivity in their situation. The narrative draws on faith and belief in God so readers can find comfort. By drawing comparisons with his own personal grief and loss, Sutton made sure readers can feel a connection with him as they go through different stages of grief. He isn’t invalidating the anger or confusion a person experiences when they lose someone they love. However, he encourages them to accept those feelings and try to find a place in their minds and hearts where they can find a little bit of hope to move forward. The narrative style is simple yet effective, which helps readers to understand what they are going through. The pace of the narrative is perfect, especially for someone who wants to find hope to overcome their grief. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a way to move forward with their grief and come back to life.
