Begin It Now by Peace Mitchell and Katy Garner brings together 21 women from around the world, each sharing a personal essay about the moment they finally leaped at a dream they had been putting off. The book opens with Mitchell's own introduction, where she admits to years of hesitation before launching her global business tours, setting the tone for the collection that follows. From there, readers move through stories like Aaila Greene's health journey in "Goldilocks & My Glorious Gut," Alicia Nukuri's path from a childhood in Burundi to humanitarian work, and Susan Toft's reflections on rebuilding herself amid "Mountains of Laundry." Structured as a series of standalone chapters rather than one continuous narrative, the book lets readers dip into whichever story speaks to them, each contributor offering her own version of what it took to finally begin.

Peace Mitchell and Katy Garner have assembled a collection with real range, and that variety is the book's biggest strength; a reader who feels stuck for one reason will likely find a contributor who overcame the same fear in her own words. Peace Mitchell's own honesty about a business coach who once told her to "stay small" gives the collection an authentic, unpolished opening that sets a grounded tone for the essays that follow. The theme tying everything together, that starting imperfectly beats waiting for the perfect moment, comes through clearly without ever feeling repetitive across 21 different voices. I appreciated how each woman's story felt distinct rather than formulaic, despite the shared theme. Begin It Now is an encouraging, easy read for anyone circling a dream they haven't started yet.
