The story concept is fascinating and as a fan of time-travel tales, contemporary or otherwise, Tess Manchester has creatively used this popular element in the True Time series. It’s exciting but apprehensive as well as Blake tries to change the outcome of every event that sways into her enemy's favor. Timestamps become the central point for readers to follow a plot that has different outcomes as the protagonist tries to stop the cunning criminal and his accomplices. The narrative is engaging and straightforward, maintaining suspense and raising the stakes at the right time. Blake is an easy character to root for and Naomi's inquisitiveness and yearning for the truth propel the story more. A commendable Book 2 from Manchester, both fans of the series and newcomers will find Along Came Revenge entertaining. I look forward to reading the next installment, Beneath the Snowfall.

Blake’s past in the army is tarnished by serious errors; however, they are overshadowed by her outstanding achievements. As both sides clash, Blake realizes she is fighting more than one enemy.

The highlight in Along Came Revenge for me was the conflict within. Blake is skilled, courageous and possesses a supernatural ability while Vincent runs a widespread criminal organization and has friends willing to stand with him, even against the law. Blake’s ability to access particular periods in time added another fascinating twist to the novel. She is also a realistic heroine. Her career is imperfect but her devotion to her work and her commitment to protecting others are her other exceptional qualities. The novel is fast-paced throughout which makes it even more thrilling. Things happen fast and lives are lost. The stakes are high and Blake has to harness everything in her power to defeat her powerful rival. Along Came Revenge by Tess Manchester is an amazing novel with a captivating storyline.
