With the proper training, an ordinary man can become a stone cold killer, especially when his mind is clouded by mood altering drugs. But, what happens when he loses everything he loves? Does the intense grief of his loss cause him to become a lethal killing machine?

Detective Inspector Mike Nash's investigations suddenly take a strange turn. First there are the deaths of two people in a suspicious house fire, then the bizarre murder of a young drug addict along with the disappearance of a scientist's daughter. Later, animal rights activists lay siege to a laboratory that is later completely destroyed, Are these crimes related, and what is going on with this sudden increase in violence? Soon the case evidence points to a man with a burning desire for revenge. But is he responsible, or are more sinister forces at work? DI Nash will have to use all of his skills to break through a cover of intense secrecy to find the truth.

Altered Egos grabs you from the start and doesn’t let go. The characters are superbly written both good guys and bad. I quickly identified with the main protagonist, Detective Inspector Nash, somewhat a rogue in his own right and his struggle to find out the correct answers to his newest dilemma. The story plot is very well done, leading the reader in one direction then expertly shifting to another. Although the ending was somewhat a giveaway it did not detract from the overall excellence of the story. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.
