An Abduction Revelation: The Comeback Kid Returns by Thomas Hay is an entertaining story about the life of the comeback kid, told in vignettes broken up and scattered throughout the history of this man, as well as songs reflecting the time and theme of the stories taking place. We see someone who joined the navy, who fought in various wars, who was also abducted by aliens, suffered a nasty divorce and had his life torn apart, and learned the ways of love and lust from a Japanese geisha who changed his world and taught him how to talk to and deal with women. The primary theme of the novel revolves around the aliens and whether or not they are real and have given us drastic leaps in technology.

My favorite part of the novel was the way the unreliable narration built throughout with some believable parts mixed in with wholly unrealistic ones. The character asks us whether or not we believe he is sane by the end of the novel, and if we believe that Tom is actually saving the world. The narrator talks directly to the reader and breaks the fourth wall, such as when a Russian ship is saved out at sea with an S.O.S and the narrator informs us that it was a big government conspiracy cover up over what happened, and he can't tell us what it is because then he would have to kill us ... which might hurt his book sales. The chapters are broken up by song lyrics, which adds an interesting level of depth to the story and gives a view of the times in which this story is taking place. An Abduction Revelation: The Comeback Kid Returns by Thomas Hay is an intentionally crazy story where it is difficult to tell if we are being lied to by a deranged person, or informed about government secrets by a brilliant man.

Thank you Ryan for taking the time to read my story. I am happy you were entertained by it. Your review was very precise and I appreciate that you didn't leave any spoilers. I can imagine that had to be difficult and tempting, considering all the exhilarating plot twists and turns. My goal in writing the story was to give readers something to think about, was it reality or my imagination? Hopefully I tickled your intuition. FYI - I am of sound mind.... but then that too could be debatable. :)
