"Introduction: The history of nuclear testing covers a period of over sixty years. The United States conducted 1,054 nuclear tests between 1945 and 1992 at the Trinity site in the New Mexico desert and at the Nevada test site. A majority of the tests--839--were underground. The vast majority--929--were conducted at the Nevada test site, while 108 more were conducted at various sites in the Pacific. Of the Pacific tests, forty-three were done at Eniwetok, twenty-three at Bikini Atoll, twenty-four at Christmas Island, and twelve at Johnston Island."

The Results: Move over Jaws, There's a new Big fish taking over. Divers beware! Mike O'Shaunghnessy was a strapping forty year old homicide detective for the NYPD, that was until he was shot in the line of duty. Now nine months later he is still on the mend. After getting the cast off of his leg the doctor has ordered a vacation. The warm and sunny island of Bikini Atoll sounds just like what the doctor ordered. He can get some R&R at a fabulous resort and play around with his other passion, scuba diving.

Mike may be on vacation but his raw instincts still let him know when something is wrong. He is asked to "keep an eye out." People start to disappear, divers do not come back. Something fishy is going on in paradise. There is a mutant form of fish that has fed on the radiation over the past few years. It is terrorizing the waters of Bikini Atoll.

I found this to be a fun read with quite a cast of characters. Dr. Collins and his research team of divers are there to locate sunken ships. The Japanese Yakuza and the Russian Mafia are out to get each other. This book has it all romance, espionage, sex, violence. The author includes just the right amount of humor.
