The Magical World of Rosie & Rainn: The ZooZoo Cookies by Sydnie Suskind, with illustrations by João Francisco, is a wildly imaginative adventure that blends sibling dynamics, magical mishaps, and heartfelt lessons into one enchanting tale. The story follows twelve-year-old twins Rosie and Rainn, who couldn't be more different. Rosie is impulsive, creative, and often messy, while Rainn is logical, studious, and organized. Despite their differences, the two team up for the summer to run a magical day camp for local kids, hoping to earn enough money to buy the coveted Adventure Bike 6000. The story begins with Rosie practicing low-level spells (often to the dismay of her family and their pet dragon lizard, Niko) and soon pivots into the zany world of enchanted sweets, mood-reading headbands, and the delightfully unpredictable Flip Flap Floo store.

Rosie’s first-person perspective radiates energy, effectively portraying the humor, warmth, and chaos of growing up in a magical world. The pacing is brisk, and the world-building is engaging, with scenes laden with sensory details and snappy dialogue. The camp activities are a joy to read, merging whimsy with gentle teachings about patience, cooperation, and understanding consequences. What truly stands out is Sydnie Suskind’s ability to capture the spirit of childhood exploration and creativity, complemented by João Francisco’s illustrations that infuse charm and motion into each scene. This narrative celebrates curiosity and bravery, all wrapped in a delightful, giggle-filled package that will thrill children dreaming of casting spells or simply riding the coolest bike in the neighborhood. After reading The Magical World of Rosie & Rainn: The ZooZoo Cookies, you'll scream for more. This series' debut is sure to be a literary classic.

The Magical World of Rosie & Rainn: The ZooZoo Cookies by Sydnie Suskind revolves around twins Rosie and Rainn. Rosie wants to buy Rainn a magical Adventure Bike, so she starts a summer camp in their backyard to raise the money. She and Rainn recruit neighborhood kids—Cole, Blue, Whizzo, Sage, Piper, and eventually Evie—to join the camp, where they introduce light magic disguised as games. When the campers grow bored, Rosie and Rainn let them cast one basic spell per day. Things go awry when Evie, frustrated by limits, steals ZooZoo Cookies and transforms into a frog. Riding their pet Niko through the air, she causes chaos before crash-landing. Rosie and Rainn scramble to manage the magical mess and regain control of the camp, and come up with a plan to stop her.

The Magical World of Rosie & Rainn by Sydnie Suskind is an irresistibly charming story that had my youngest reader completely hooked from start to finish. The writing is clever, warm, and full of playful dialogue that captures the magical chaos of kids experimenting with powers just beyond their grasp. As Rosie and Rainn wade through unexpected mishaps that include enchanted vegetables, a spell-happy camper-turned-pink-frog, and a flying pet named Niko, the story maintains a delightful balance of whimsy and gentle lessons. The black and white illustrations by João Francisco are simple but expressive, perfectly complementing the lighthearted tone. There’s a contagious energy in how the characters respond to one another, and the pacing keeps things moving with just the right mix of humor and heart. It’s a wonderfully imaginative read that mixes magic and sibling teamwork in a way that feels both fresh and timeless.

Sydnie Suskind's The Magical World of Rosie & Rainn: The ZooZoo Cookies tells the story of the charming and adventurous twins, Rosie and Rainn. Their father decided that the twins needed to get out for a change of scenery after Rosie created her typical magic mess at home one day. This took them to Rainn's favorite store, Flip Flap Floo. The twins discover the fabled Adventure 6000 bike while exploring the shop and sampling goodies. But they didn't have enough money saved up from babysitting to buy the bike. The twins came up with an amazing idea immediately to help them make more money. They often babysat, so they decided to start a summer camp where young magicals could be babysat all at the same time! More children to watch meant having more money earned in a single day. But of course, having to watch more children came with greater responsibility. Will all those kids be too much for Rosie and Rainn to manage? Read The Magical World of Rosie & Rainn to learn more!

The Magical World of Rosie & Rainn by Sydnie Suskind is well-written, entertaining, and fast-paced. The drawings by João Francisco were delightful and added to the story's magical feel. Despite their differences, the twins were both incredibly charming and lovable in their unique ways. Since I enjoy spending time at home reading books, I could relate to Rainn. He is the ideal role model for young children since he is patient, gentle, and prefers to think about the possible outcome before doing something. I adored Rosie's personality as well. She always finds an inventive way to put things right, she never loses her cheerful attitude, and she knows how to have fun. The story had some valuable lessons that could be learned. Avoiding taking on more than you can handle is one important lesson that has stayed with me. The twins didn't mind the responsibility of caring for five youngsters, who eventually grew to six, because they were so excited about getting the Adventure 6000. Fortunately, Rosie and Rainn were both quick-minded and always managed to make things right. I appreciated Rosie's acknowledgment of their shortcomings. Finally, this already excellent book was made even more exciting by the short story and extra activity at the end. I'm excited for more magical adventures in The Magical World of Rosie and Rainn! Excellent work!

The Magical World of Rosie & Rainn: The ZooZoo Cookies by Sydnie Suskind tells the story of Rosie and Rainn, magical twins. Rosie is more of a free spirit. Rosie loves magical ZooZoo cookies because one of them can turn you into any animal without warning. Evie, the smallest but most troublesome of the children attending Rosie and Rainn's magic camp, ends up turning into something unexpected after eating Rosie's cookies. The twins and the other children have to use what magic they know and a bit of luck to make sure everyone (even the twins' lizard dragon Niko) is safe and back in the twins' garden by the time all the parents arrive to pick them up.

Sydnie Suskind has written an uplifting and entertaining children's book for readers between 7 and 10 years old. The author uses easy-to-understand language and conveys several life lessons through the narrative. Setting the story in a world where magic is part of the children's lives introduces fantasy in a fun way and gives the plot a whimsical feel. Children will be drawn into this magical world where they can live the excitement of the adventure together with the twins and their friends. Some of the themes are having a goal and a plan to see it become real, the amount of responsibility needed to keep yourself and others safe, and teamwork. The lovely pictures by João Francisco echo the text descriptions. This will be a winner in the library or as a gift. The Magical World of Rosie & Rainn is a fantastic start to a series that shows a lot of promise.
