Bitcoin Bluz by Patrick W. Emmett is an Annette Dupart mystery crime story. Annette Dupart is a strong and confident woman, a CPA who works for her cousin, Wolf De Luc. She is sent to Atlanta to audit the books for A Touch of Class Executive Cars after a number of luxury vehicles were purchased using Bitcoins. She thought it was going to be a straightforward job, but she was wrong. Annette finds herself plunged deep into the mystery of a stolen Mercedes, murder, and the embezzlement of a large number of Bitcoins. Add to that the video game addicts who live life as the avatars of their favorite characters, the Corsican Mafia, a corrupt investment club and Annette has got her hands full. Can she solve the mystery before it’s too late or is she heading straight into the line of fire?
Bitcoin Bluz by Patrick W. Emmett is an interesting book. For anyone who is uneducated about Bitcoins and how they work, this is a must-read as there’s plenty of factual information here, information that is vital to the story. The plot itself was quite unique, something different from the normal murder mystery. Centered around Bitcoins and a gamers' convention, the story runs a natural course and there are no loose ends; you are never left wondering what happened because every twist in the story leads to a conclusion. This had everything – murder, mystery, a little humor and romance, all mixed up in a great story. The character development was strong, with details of the main protagonists being drip-fed through the story, giving a solid understanding of who they are. Great story, excellent plot, and I would love to read more from Mr. Emmett.
