Celebrating the New Year at the Country Club, Meredith realizes she is in danger and reaches out to the only person she trusts to help her, Stacie Maroni. Sadly, by the time Stacie and her boyfriend, Detective Michael O’Hare, reach the Country Club, Meredith is dead. While the police are following their leads, a blogger claiming to be a reporter broadcasts inaccurate details of the crime scene and investigation. Her false statements cause the killer to target Stacie, and now her life is at risk. With so many attendees present at the club at the time of Meredith’s death, the suspect pool is large. Can O’Hare and Stacy discover Meredith’s murderer before Stacie becomes his next victim?
Bitterness Betrayal & Murder by Christa Nardi is a sensational novel. It has a stimulating plot, a thrilling storyline, and relatable characters. These aspects create an exciting and unforgettable story. Added to that, Stacie and her former husband Ted’s help and support for battered women is commendable and enhances Stacie’s backstory. I also enjoyed the addition of Jasper, Stacie’s adorable and feisty little canine. For the ninth book in a series, it reads fairly well as a standalone novel. I loved this book and will certainly be reading the rest of the series. Anyone who is a fan of amateur sleuths and murder mysteries will want to add this series to their reading list!
