Reality Benders by Vegastarchild584 is the fourth book in the Star Seed Series. In book one, Commander Zhang and Lieutenant Simon accept a mission to incarnate on Earth, posing as entertainers to expose corruption, but their training, obsession, and Zhang’s forgetfulness threaten Simon’s efforts to succeed. In book two, Zhang and Simon disrupt a space mission timeline through crashes, hidden alliances, and secrecy while their soulmate bond drives completion. In three, Zhang and Simon, promoted as Confederation officers and cultivation masters, manage secret missions, rescue Earth’s stranded people, and strengthen Pleiadian defenses. Now, Zhang and Simon infiltrate threats against humanity’s ascension, defend the Sirian mothership Athena, and confront a parasitic race seeking advanced weapons that could destabilize the multiverse while balancing volatile personal distractions.
Vegastarchild584’s Reality Benders delivers a wildly entertaining blend of sci-fi and espionage that constantly surprises and delights. The story thrives on subverting familiar tropes, turning sleek missions into clumsy, humorous adventures filled with awkward alien bodies, malfunctioning ships, and an uncooperative trainer. Zhang’s impatience and inventive thinking, combined with Simon’s adaptability, make each scene lively, amusing, and unpredictable. The author mixes immediate plot developments with clever hints at additional subplots, from Zeeter’s mysterious actions to ongoing politicking, while still providing satisfying closure as, for example, everyone returns to their bodies and enjoys well-earned acknowledgment and humor. An interesting twist is Princess Ardali’s past and a lineage question that are fantastic. The integration of personal histories, action, and consequences creates a brilliantly entertaining read that keeps us eager for what we hope is more to come.
