Bringing Laura Home: Book 1 Genes Inherent Series by LR Perie is a tale of suspense set in Australia. Renee is a hard worker, but she is lonely, a single mum who want to find love. That’s what internet dating sites are for and, at first, Cooper seems to be perfect. A widower, he claims to have thrown himself into his work to cope with losing Laura, his first wife, and, until Luka arrives, everything is going well. Luka is Cooper’s brother-in-law and his arrival is about to change everything. Soon, Cooper’s past begins to bubble to the surface and he finds it hard to escape the lies and the secrets. Then Renee discovers Sheryl, the other woman in Cooper’s life. Renee, Luka, and Sheryl must work together to find out what is hidden in Cooper’s past. Luka suspects Cooper murdered Laura, but needs to prove it, and then Sheryl find a body in Cooper’s shower. Luka wants Cooper back in Africa where he will get the death penalty for murder, and he uses Sheryl and Renee as bait. Has he put their lives at risk or will his gamble pay off?

Bringing Laura Home: Book 1 Genes Inherent Series by LR Perie is one of those books that grabs your attention and holds on fast. The plot is masterfully written and thickens with every page that you turn, getting its hooks into you and not letting go. The characters were written in such a way that they felt so real, as though I knew them personally and, in all honesty, everyone will be able to identify with at least one character somewhere in their lives. The story is highly descriptive, allowing you a real glimpse into life in Africa and Australia, and making it incredibly real. There is so much going on in this story, so much action and plenty of twists and turns to keep a reader interested, and it ended in such a way that I can’t wait to get book 2 in the series. I guarantee that any reader who loves a good mystery and a lot of suspense will absolutely love this book.
