Author Biography

Mary J. Nestor attended Marquette University in Wisconsin, and has a bachelor of Business Administration from Washington Adventist University. She has previously published a children’s book, Emily’s Best Birthday Party Ever! Her career as a manager, consultant, and human resources director inspired her second book, Say It Now! Say It Right! How to Handle Tough and Tender Conversations. Nestor enrolled in a writer’s conference in 2016, resulting in Bus No. 7, a finalist in the Novel-In-Progress category of the 2022 Wiliam Faulkner Literary Competition.

Nestor lives in a waterfront villa a short walk from the ocean on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. When she isn’t writing, Mary can be found on the golf course, singing with the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra Chorus and the Hilton Head Choral Society, or creating beautiful home furnishings with her custom fabrication business. She is at work on a sequel to Bus No. 7 and looking forward to her next adventure.

Bus No. 7 by Mary J. Nestor is about Annabelle, a pregnant woman whose husband, Jake, is unable to pick her up, forcing her to take the bus. David, a man with his own troubles and looking for money to buy drugs, sets his sights on her. When Annabelle starts going into labor on the bus, chaos erupts. Annabelle is rushed to the hospital, and amidst the chaos, David, encouraged by the bus driver to help, uses the opportunity to steal her phone and wallet. At the hospital, David meets Two K, an old friend who deals drugs. When David tries to use Annabelle's necklace as payment, Two K refuses it. Now, Two K is pursuing David, aware that he has Annabelle’s stolen belongings and wants a share of them.

Bus No. 7 by Mary J. Nestor was fascinating and complex. The storyline was filled with tension and emotional depth, and was interwoven with desperation, secrets, and surprising connections. From start to finish, it was a fast-paced and action-packed read. I found myself flipping the pages as quickly as possible, eager to discover what would happen next. The suspense kept me anxious, anticipating each new twist and turn. The writing style was captivating, exploring themes of trust, betrayal, and secrets. The characters were well-crafted and genuine. They felt so real that I easily identified my favorites and those I did not care for at all. The story was skillfully written and held my attention throughout. I truly enjoyed reading this book, and it highlights how a single moment can alter the lives of strangers forever.
