But Behold, Enchantment by Sean D. Clark is a collection of poems about life. Life takes us along many paths - some are unexpected and some can be predicted. The poems speak about friendships, betrayals, the loves in our life, our losses, and life in general. We have to go through the ups and downs and face them. We need to struggle many times to get our choices right.

The poems all have some underlying and profound message. They speak of the struggle and ordeal we humans have to endure. The collection is about what is relevant in our lives. 'To New Beginnings' is an inspiring poem, while 'A Simple Start' speaks about meeting a loved one. The expressions and language are elegant, making it very subtle and effective to the reader. The style of the poet is similar throughout the collection but he manages to write about diverse topics that are part of our daily lives. 'A Single Bird.......Flies Away' is a prose poem that is well executed. This is the only poem that breaks from the style followed in the book.

The author's observations and perspective on life are shared with readers here. 'Silencing Fears' is rich in imagery and the sights, sounds, and colors in the poem are vibrant. The poem dedicated to the September 11 victims is beautiful and full of emotion. On the whole, I enjoyed this collection. It spoke to me on many levels that reflect the expertise of the poet.
