Can You Pray a Million Prayers in One Day? is a children’s picture book written by Gail Ann Gross with illustrations by Joe Eckstein. It teaches children how they can pray a million prayers with small actions like breathing, blinking, and even smiling. With these simple gestures, you can uplift people who are struggling to breathe or dealing with health issues, offering their needs to God, and achieve a million prayers a day. The book encourages bringing joy to others, being thankful, and continuously praying. It covers various miracles we can find in nature, such as trees that are the lungs of the world, producing oxygen through photosynthesis, and parts of our biology, like the respiratory system, our vision, hearing, and our unique skeletal structure. By remembering all these as blessings from the Lord, this will help us protect ourselves and the environment better and commit ourselves to prayer.
Can You Pray a Million Prayers in One Day? is a heartwarming book that reminds us how prayer is not limited to spoken words. It bridges the gap between science, faith, and mathematics, making it easy for us to connect to God in every moment of our lives and through different ways that we have never even thought about. Gail Ann Gross makes readers realize that God’s creation is designed with complexity and purpose. The narrative is cheerful and engaging, featuring fascinating facts, such as how the heart can pump blood through approximately 60,000 miles of blood vessels—that's enough to circle the Earth two and a half times. The best part of this book is the fun images of lungs and eyes, and an experiment of making sound waves that you can do with your friends and family. I truly enjoyed this book because it helps build children’s faith by encouraging them to add prayer to their daily activities and to appreciate the gift of our natural environment and their bodies more.
