It is a book that will appeal to fans of travel and adventure and is a well-written work that features stories at sea about people who enjoy sea travel. In this book, the author explores the “interruption” brought into this activity by the Covid-19 global pandemic, and the impact it had on people. Readers will explore stories of people getting Covid-19 while on cruise ships, encounter compelling and interesting characters that are fun company, like the cruise entertainment producer and the MC Extraordinaire Jason Venner, and get a feel of what it is like on a cruise. While this book explores different and engaging stories about cruising, it also presents a lifestyle that will fascinate readers.
Paul C. Thornton’s writing is crisp, upbeat, and utterly engaging, and the author’s attention to detail, especially when it comes to exploring characterization, is one of the elements that lift the narrative above an average rating. Whether writing about the chef, the traveling Judi, the five-foot traveler, or the quirky characters on the ship, the author allows the humor to sink in deeply. There are emotionally strong moments and moments that inspire pathos, but there is also hilarity that rubs off powerfully on the reader. Apart from the mesmerizing stories shared in this book, the author presents some usual tips for travelers and his personal experience informs the contents whilst sharing creative ways to have a cruise experience during the pandemic. Cruising Interrupted is a beautifully written book that exposes the humanity of cruisers and the excitement of sea travel, and it is as entertaining as it is informative.
