There are moments in life when doubts arise, and we do not know which way to turn. We are all different, so there are many options. Although there are diverse religions and philosophical approaches, their goal is the same: the development of the self. This is what Dance of Light: Christian, Sufi and Zen Wisdom for Today's Spiritual Seeker is all about. Alice McDowell shares her ideas with us by using different types of wisdom teachings. To grow it is first necessary to go through a process that involves physical and mental purification. This will allow us to become individuals with clear ideas and minds free of pretension. That is only part of the journey but is necessary for personal development. This book will help us to understand the ideas it introduces and advises us to dedicate time to ourselves for this purpose.
Alice McDowell writes in a natural style, and I like the way she expresses herself. She uses allegories, anecdotes, and quotations, all in language that is easy to understand. Although the chapters discuss many new systems and ideas, it is not necessary to have prior knowledge. Dance of Light is perfect for beginners taking the first steps to seek the truth. Alice understands the process of seeking and shows us that awakening can happen at any time. Consciousness is available to anyone who sincerely seeks it. At the end of each chapter, Alice asks readers to reflect and involve themselves in the ideas she presents. This book will encourage readers to dedicate themselves to spiritual growth and meditate deeply.
