Deja Route 66 by Lisa Creech Saleh is a travel blog that chronicles the journey of Lisa and her husband, Mounir, along the historic Route 66. Their journey covers themes of life's fleeting nature and evanescence. Their trip begins in Oklahoma City, where they reflect somberly on the 1995 Federal Building bombing. From there, they visit several landmarks, including Fort Reno, Texas Wind Farms, and Palo Duro Canyon, often referred to as the Grand Canyon of Texas. Other highlights include the public art installation at The Cadillac Ranch, the Blue Hole underwater caves, and petroglyphs. As they travel through New Mexico, the couple shops for souvenirs for family members and bargains for jewelry. They enjoy a picnic at the Grand Canyon, where they have an encounter with wildlife. Museums along the way also capture their attention, and they eventually arrive at iconic locations in Los Angeles, including Griffith Observatory and Hollywood Boulevard.

Deja Route 66 is the second book detailing the couple's completion of their Route 66 road trip. The story is nostalgic and filled with both emotional and humorous moments. Lisa Creech Saleh shares valuable lessons she learned throughout their journey, expressing her appreciation for Native American culture and emphasizing the importance of preserving history through museums. The book has smooth chronological narration and provides educational insights into meteorological study sites and political history. Lisa includes personal memories about various locations, which adds a heartfelt touch. The narrative skillfully balances emotional depth with lighthearted anecdotes, such as a humorous mishap involving money transactions. The accompanying photographs bring their adventures to life. Lisa’s mentions of her children and grandchildren add warmth and a sense of family connection to their journey. Overall, her experiences will inspire readers and serve as a reminder that it is never too late to explore the world and create wonderful memories.
