Diamond on the High Seas by Karen Gilleland is about Hope Diamond, a tenacious woman who heads Diamond Security, one of the elite firms providing protective services to high-risk individuals. She is hired for a job by her cousin Ruth Austin, whose husband Leonard's life is in danger due to his work as an accountant for the military technology company, MOS. Hope finds herself aboard the Iris of the Seas cruise ship, where she runs into her former lover, Matt Dennison, an FBI agent tasked with capturing a traitor and preventing vital microfilm from falling into the wrong hands. However, two successive murders on the ship during a storm at sea will force Hope and Matt to put their feelings aside and work toward capturing the killer before more lives are lost.
Diamond on the High Seas is a captivating whodunnit set on a cruise ship full of suspects. What more can a murder-mystery fan ask for? Karen Gilleland's gripping story is full of action, suspense, intrigue, and romance, and you will be hard-pressed to find a dull moment. The two lead characters, Hope and Matt, exude infectious chemistry, and their relationship forms the anchor around which the plot revolves. The sheer number of characters makes it difficult for readers to identify the killer, and you will find yourself looking for clues until the final revelation. I thoroughly enjoyed Diamond on the High Seas and recommend it to murder mystery lovers.
