Diary of a Christian Woman: How I Used 50 Shades of Grey To Spice Up My Marriage by Rebecca Reilly is the story of Phoebe and George. They have been married for nineteen years and have two teenage children. Bored with her sex life, Phoebe decides to take matters in hand. In order to find inspiration, she purchases 50 Shades of Grey. She intends to use it as a manual of adding new flavours to her hopeless sex life. However, her plan does not work the way she had hoped; on the contrary, George begins acting distant.

Throughout Diary of a Christian Woman: How I Used 50 Shades of Grey To Spice Up My Marriage, Rebecca's humorous style of writing is enough to keep the reader giggling and smiling. She has researched various norms of married life quite closely, and her research is evident in the book. The elaborate description of the nervousness of a respectable lady in entering a shop to buy sex toys, the dilemma of a Christian woman in exploring her sexual desires, and a wife's increased problems when her husband is unwilling to talk about their intimate issues has enhanced the overall plot of the book. The addition of a parent's difficulties in finding the perfect moment to have intercourse is the icing on the cake. In the end, the narrative writing of the author, the believable plot, the perfect depiction of the characters, and the bits of humor add up to create a fascinating read.
