Divine Intervention by Edward Davies is a young adult fantasy that pits angels and demons against one another. Jimmy Stewart Moon wants to hook up with the girl of his dreams, Vanessa. First, Jimmy is in an accident (that happened because he was looking out his window at Vanessa while she was doing exercises in her underwear). When Jimmy wakes up, he gets the help of angels who are determined to help him with his relationship with Vanessa (which will allow him to reach heaven). This is a difficult task, as Jimmy was only in this mess because he was spying on Vanessa in the first place. Throw God and the Devil into the mix and Jimmy isn't sure exactly what to do! All he knows is that he wants to be with Vanessa, but can the angels help convince Vanessa to give him another chance? And is Jimmy willing to do what the angels ask, or will he let the Devil tempt him down a more devilish path?

This was a fun story that could be classified as a novella. Jimmy was a likeable character, if a little clueless and naughty in his behavior. Arty, Pixie, and Frank were all interesting and amusing characters and they added a lot of comic relief to this story. This is definitely a funny story, with crazy scenes and over the top comedic sketches, like when Jimmy dresses to impress Vanessa as an 1980s punk but looks more like a homeless person. For readers interested in humor and slapstick comedy, this is the story for them.
